JEE Main Application Form 2019

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to conduct the JEE Main 2020 exam for the 2nd time, first in January and second in April. Candidates can attempt either both or one of them. The application form for the January exam (First attempt) is released (September 3rd 2019) and the candidates can start registering for the exam from 3rd September to 30th September 2019. Please note that application forms will be accepted only after fee payment. Please refer below for registration steps, fee details and other related information.

Registration for JEE Main exam must be done in online only. No other means will be considered. Multiple applications from the same candidate will be rejected.

The websites to be accessed to apply are – www.nta.ac.in, www.nta.nic.in and www.jeemain.nta.nic.in

Before filling the JEE Main application form candidates must have:

  1. A computer with good Internet connectivity.

  2. All your qualification details, Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb).

  3. Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb–30 kb).

  4. A valid e-mail Id as all communication will be made on this e-mail Id.

  5. A valid mobile number as all information via SMS will be sent to this number.

  6. A valid debit/credit card or Net banking account or UPI or PAYTM Service.

  7. A printer connected to your system to print confirmation page.

  8. Download information Bulletin. Read it carefully to ensure your eligibility and acquaint with the requirements for submission of Online Application Form.

  9. No correction can be made at a later stage after submission of an application. No change will be accepted through Post/Fax/email/By Hand etc.

Provision of AADHAAR

NTA hereby notifies the following:

  1. Candidates, who are in possession of Aadhaar, may enter Aadhaar number, name, date of birth & gender in online application for JEE (Main)-2020 for the purpose of his/her identity and authentication thereof.
  2. Candidates not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, may make application for Aadhaar enrolment in case he/she is entitled to obtain Aadhaar as per section 3 of Aadhaar Act. Such applicant may visit any Aadhaar enrolment centre (list available at www.uidai.gov.in) to get enrolled for Aadhaar.
  3. The candidates who have enrolled for Aadhaar and have not received Aadhaar should enter 14 digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID (Including slash) printed on the Aadhaar enrolment slip at the time of filling online application form for JEE (Main)-2020
Note

The candidates can also enter the passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid Government identity number.

Given below is step-by-step guide to fill JEE Main 2020 application form-

Application process in brief

  1. Register for online application form
  2. Complete the application form
  3. Upload Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph and Candidate’s Signature
  4. Payment by Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI/PAYTM
Step 1- Registration for online application form

The candidates must choose a password and a security question while registering for the exam. Application number will be generated after successful submission of the personal details, and it will be used to complete the remaining steps of the Application Form and will also be required for all future correspondence. The same application number will also be used to fill the application form of April, 2020, if the candidates wish to apply for the same

  • Visit the official website of JEE Main (www.jeemain.nta.nic.in).

  • Click on the ‘Apply for JEE Main 2020’ tab.

  • Fill in the application form carefully by entering Nationality, State of Eligibility, State where Class 12th School / NIOS study centre is located, Identification Type, Aadhaar Card Number (depends on the ID chosen), Candidate’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Security Pin.

  • Note down the system generated Application Number.

STEP 2- Complete the application form

Candidate can login with the system generated Application Number and created Password for completing the Application Form

STEP 3 - Uploading scanned documents

The candidates must note that the photo must be taken recently, it should be coloured or black/white (but with clear contrast).

  • Once the application form is carefully filled, the next step is to upload scanned images of signature and photograph.

  • The Candidate’s Photograph (between 10 KB–200 KB) and Candidate’s Signature (between 4 KB – 30 KB) should be in JPG/JPEG format.

STEP 4 - Payment of fee
  • Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ PayTM/UPIare the different methods by which a candidate can pay their application fee.

  • Keep a proof of the fee paid.

Once the application is submitted successfully, the student can the printout of the confirmation page. It is good to have at least four copies of the confirmation/acknowledgement page for future reference.
Note
  1. In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee then the transaction is cancelled and the candidates have to approach the concerned bank for refund of amount. However the candidate has to make another payment/transaction, in case the Confirmation Page is not generated.
  2. The candidates are required to check the status of fee payment once the fees is paid. If the status is ‘OK’ the candidate will be able to take the printout of Confirmation Page.
  3. If the fee is paid through credit/debit card/Netbanking/UPI/PAYTM and status is not OK, it means the transaction is cancelled and the amount will, automatically, be refunded to concerned credit/debit card/Net Banking/UPI/PAYTM Account within 15 days. Therefore, such candidates have to pay the fee once again and ensure the fee status OK.
  4. The final submission of online Application form will remain incomplete if all the steps are not completed. Such forms will stand rejected and no correspondence on this account will be entertained.

Instructions to upload the scanned images:

  • Before filling up the application form the candidate should have a scanned image of his/her photograph, signature and father’s/mother’s/guardian’s signature.

  • The photograph should be colour or b/w (but clear contrast) with name of the candidate and date of taking the photograph printed on it as shown below.

  • Cap/goggles must not be worn in the photograph. Spectacles are allowed. Polaroid photos are not acceptable.

  • Candidates may keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of entrance examination, Seat Allocation Process and Admission.

JEE Main 2020 Image Correction

NTA has provided facility to change photo/signature and remove discrepancy in the photos and signature. Image correction facility was activated on 12th September 2019 and the deadline for the correction has not been mentioned. So it is better that the applicants correct it as soon as possible.

Any errors in the uploaded images (both photo and signature) must be addressed now. Since images are very important in the application form, any error of its part may lead to application rejection.

Steps to remove discrepancy in JEE Main 2020 Application Form

Step 1. Go to JEE official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in).

Step 2. Click on the link “Remove image discrepancy”, which can be seen under current events.

Step 3. You will be redirected to login page. Login with your application number and password.

Step 4. Select the edit option for the images uploaded and add new images in place of that.

JEE Main 2019 Application form fee

After the registration is completed, candidates will be redirected to payment portal if he/she chooses to pay the application fee, online.

Candidates can choose any method of fee payment from the following

  • Debit Card ( SBI / other Banks)
  • Internet Banking ( SBI/other Banks)

  • Cash Deposit (through e-challan in any of the SBI branches across India)

JEE Main 2020 Application Form Correction (January exam)

Steps involved in JEE Main application form correction:

Step 1- Click on the link provided in the official website of NTA JEE 2020 saying application form correction.

Step 2- Enter your application number and password and click login.

Step 3- Choose the details that needs to be edited. Edit all the wrong details and then verify the newly entered details before submitting it.

Step 4- Make payment of the requisite amount of fee for the correction.
